The Beautiful Manhattan Beach

Hello everyone! Gosh it’s been quite a while since my last post on this blog. I hope everybody’s doing well and been having an amazing 2017 so far! My 2017 has been treating me nicely. Can’t lie that there are some annoying things, but it’s mostly good times and I hope 2017 will be a A LOT better than 2016. I have to say that 2016 was not a delightful year for me. However, with this post I would like to share with you guys one of my favorite moments from 2016: a short yet splendid visit to Manhattan Beach.

It was a bit windy that day, didn’t stop us from enjoying the beach!.

My love for LUSH ❤️

I’m such a huge fan of Lush to the point that years ago, I solely use Lush as my skincare product, starting from the makeup remover, cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and face mask. I love most of their products that I’ve tried so far, but in this post, I will be focusing on products that I include in my skincare routine because they are AWESOME.

And yeah, if you guys wondering why all the links I provided down below lead you guys to Lush UK, it’s because I bought most of my Lush supplies from their UK website. Why? Because they’re a lot cheaper there. I can get bigger size of products including the shipping cost and it’s still cheaper compared to buying from their US site. How? I don’t know 😕😕

Okay so the first product will be my forever favorite favorite face mask from Lush : Mask of Magnaminty

I can’t emphasize enough how much I love this face mask. It feels amazing, it has soothing and cooling effect on skin, when it deeply cleanse it. I personally feel that this mask also helps to heal my acnes, especially big and painful acnes. It calms them down, making them less red and painful. This mask is SPECIAL ❤️

Second product, Fresh Farmacy .

Yes, it’s Farmacy with an F. Once again, one of my favorite product from Lush, cleanse very well and very suitable for sensitive skin like mine. Doesn’t break me out at all, as a matter of fact, it heals and dries the acnes. Have to admit that it could be a little drying, but really, this product is bomb for acnes 🙂

again, excuse my ugly nail 😛😛😛

Another cleanser that stole my heart, 9 to 5

I use this as a makeup remover and it works so well taking every makeup off your face. Very gentle, has a little bit of scent but doesn’t really bother me.

Last but not least, my obsession : Tea Tree Water

Massive love for this toner ❤️! Suitable for all skin types, especially oily and acne prone skin. I think we all agree that tea tree is one of the best ingredients to treat acne, and this product is one of the best example of how well tea tree works. If you have oily, acne prone skin, please love yourself enough and get this toner 😉😉😉 Seriously.

So that’s about it! Let me know on the comment section below if you guys love Lush as much and please share your favorite product as well! Thank you very much for spending your precious time checking my blog, especially reading this post.

Inexpensive products that help me stay matte

Just in case I haven’t mentioned it before, I have an extremely oily face. Oily skin can be quite tricky for makeup user, especially during the summer when makeup easily melts and/or slides from it’s place.

Besides of being a student, I work part-time in a restaurant, and some days, I have to work whole day, which requires me to have my makeup on for 12 hours. During the winter, I don’t really encounter any problem with my makeup, but as soon as the summer starts, I’m a desperate grease ball by the end of my shift, even worse, sometimes my makeup starts to melt after 6 hours, which is horrible.

So I did my research on this and I found TONS of products that might actually work like magic keeping my makeup in place, but they’re slightly over my current budget, for example this Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray or the Mattifying Powder. Now I said ‘might’ because I personally never tried those products before, but at some point, I will. But for now, I have found inexpensive products that have been saving my shiny face during this summer.

Without any further do, let’s get down to the products! I will go by the order I’m putting them onto my face.

So the first one, gotta be this Gel Moisturizer by Scinic.

I put moisturizer on my skin before makeup because sometimes, over-oiliness on our face can actually be caused by it needs of moisture, so it produces more oil in order to keep our face hydrated.I heard that gel moisturizer is better for oily skin since they’re less likely clog up pores. As for this particular moisturizer, it’s super hydrating without leaving sticky feeling on my skin afterwards.

Next one, this Nivea Men Post Shave Balm.

I bought this from Target for around $6. Now some of you guys might have already heard about this from Nikkietutorials  as she raves about this product a lot on her YouTube channel and her blog, that this product actually work really well as a makeup primer because one of the main ingredients is glycerin which make products stick to it. Surprise, surprise. I was skeptical but curious at the same time, but she ensures everyone to give it a try because it actually works. And it does! It helps my makeup stay in place, but if you have sensitive skin like I do, you might want to use the one for sensitive skin instead of the regular one.

The third product is this BANILA CO Prime Primer Finish Powder.

I can’t believe I haven’t write about this product considering how much I love this! It really does the job of dialing down the oiliness on my face BUT STILL sadly this alone wasn’t enough. I use this after I finish all my makeup, before the setting spray. I’m new to setting spray by the way, for months I only used this finish powder to set my makeup and it does an amazing job, it’s just me that too oily 😂😂😂

Last but not least, this Makeup Setting Spray – Matte by NYX.

My first ever makeup setting spray and really, I couldn’t complain about what I get at $8 price point. It does the job, but since it’s my first setting spray, I couldn’t compare it to any other setting spray. However, I really like this product!

So that’s about it! Hope you guys enjoy this post and let me know on the comment if you guys have favorite products that will keep makeup stay matte for my future reference 😉😉😉

Talk to you guys soon!

Short post about my workout routine + eating healthy!

Even though I may not be in my best shape (yet!), I love working out and being active. Not only it helps me to stay healthy and shreds the unwanted extra fat, it also boosts my stamina, self-confidence and refresh my mind. I used to go to the gym for couple years, but then I decided to terminate my membership and started working out at home, because I realize it offers the same benefit as going to the gym, also I can use the money for everything else like makeup, clothes, shoes, food etc.

I workout at least 3 times a week and it’s a combination of cardio like running, swimming, dancing or kick-boxing and weight-lifting / high-intensity workout to build muscles.

As for my diet, it has always been healthy-oriented ever since I started working out regularly, but these days I try to eat more vegetables & fruits, whole grains and nuts and I also try to go easy on rice and other type of simple carbs like bread and noodles even though it is hard because I loveeeee carbs ♥️ #carbswarrior

Here’s a picture of my first avocado flower🌼

Surprisingly, it’s not that hard to make! You guys can find the tutorial on how to make this all over Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or whatever social media you’re on, but let me know if you guys want me to make one, I’d be glad to do it!

Hopefully this short post can inspire you guys to get healthier this month! Let me know if you guys want more in-depth workout routine and/or healthy foods inspiration ☺️

First experience with

After hearing great things about ELF Cosmetics, last week I decided to try some of their products myself. The brand claims their products as “top quality, professional makeup products at prices that will impress you”as they believe that “every woman should be able to look like a million bucks without having to spend that much on premium quality makeup”. Seriously, you can’t complain about the price, though. 32 Colors Eyeshadow Palette for just $7 and these beautiful Moisturizing Lipsticks for $3? AMAZING. Not to neglect the fact that their cosmetics are mineral enriched and also specially designed for long-lasting color and healthy glow on skin. Everything sounds too good to be true, so why not try it? 😁😁😁

Getting down to the items that I ordered. First one, this Baked Highlighter in color Moonlight Pearls ($4)

First impression was the color is really pretty! But after I swatched it to my hands, it’s just meh 😑. The color pigmentation is poor, even worse when I tried using my brush. So sad that this product is a miss, but I will give it another chance and see if I can make it work lol.

— Please ignore my ugly nail 🙏

Second product is this e.l.f. 83 Piece Essential Makeup Collection for just $10! Okay this is insane 😱😱😱

Tried this and was not disappointed! Color pigments are great for the Eye-shadows, blushes, bronzers and highlights. Haven’t really tried the lipsticks so I can’t really talk about it, but so far, I like this palette! Nothing to lose at this $10 price point ✌️✌️✌️

Lastly, these Professional Complete Set of 12 Brushes for $12

To be honest, I haven’t tried them to apply my makeup, but the brushes’ hair are soft and really, at this price point I think they make really good quality brushes! Can’t wait to try them 😁

For now, rating :

ratings are based on my personal humble opinion:)

Overall, I will definitely come back to their site and spend my money on their other products.

Memebox U.S

I can’t believe that it’s mid-June already! It’s been a roller-coaster, but I enjoy the ride so far 🙂 I’ve been shopping for cosmetics and skin care products more than ever and as a beauty enthusiast, I’m proud of it! (haha)

So last post I mentioned that I love to shop on SokoGlam. Another online store that offers incredible K-beauty products that I’m a loyal customer of is Memebox!

I got  most of my Korean makeup products from this store and I love every single item I bought from them. They offer a great range of variety in a great price 🙂 If you guys haven’t, go check them out! Subscribe to their newsletter and get 10% off your first order, or use my link  and get 20% off ! How cool is that? Not to mention that they ship your order in a very cute pink box. Yasss ❤︎❤︎❤︎

Not only makeups, I also got two of my favorite cleansers from Memebox.

IMG_8324This rose petal cleansing oil by RE:CIPE. Soothing and cleanse very well, melt down my makeup as soon as I rub it onto my face. Smells very good too!

Rating : 👍👍👍👍

I heard a lot about this new Low pH Morning Gel Cleanser by COSRX before finally trying it out myself. People are obsessed about this because it cleanse really well without over drying the skin. And they were right!

I used it a lot along with my Clarisonic Mia 2 (ft. lovely design from Keith Haring ❤︎)

Rating : 👍👍👍👍

ratings are based on my personal humble opinion 🙂

Definitely will continue being their loyal customer. 😊😊😊

love SokoGlam ❤️

I love Korean skincare and makeup products. I’ve tried some BB cream and eyeliner products from Korean cosmetic brands like Etude House and The Face Shop years ago, but my first encounter with Korean skincare product was recent, around a year ago.  I’m always amazed by how flawless and healthy Korean’s skins are. I have extremely sensitive and acne prone skin, so I thought, why not try Korean skincare products? Maybe I’ll achieve that kind of perfection some day. 😝😝😝😝😝

Okay, so last week I shopped at one of my favorite Korean makeup and skin care online site : . Never. Ever. Got. Disappointed. I love all the products I get from Soko Glam! Let me introduce my favorite product so far :

Son & Park Beauty Water

I love this beauty water! It doesn’t only cleanse excess dirt on our face after washing, it also mildly exfoliates and  moisture at the same time. Ever since I use this (this is my second bottle by the way), I notice that my skin is brighter, smoother and have less redness. Super. Duper. Love this. ❤️

This beauty water lasted quite a while, I used my first bottle for 5 months. *happy*

Other products that I bought from Soko Glam are :

MISSHA Speedy Solution Anti Trouble PatchMISSHA Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 PA+++

I like the acne patch, mainly because it helps me to not touch the acnes so it reduces the inflammation and irritation. I notice that it reduces the size of my pimples little by little, but not completely vanish them overnight.

As for the BB cream, I bought #13 – Milky Beige. The color itself is a little too light for me, it doesn’t give as much coverage as I need and it’s a little dry compared to other BB cream I’ve used before. However, it smells really good and give a very natural finish.

Nonetheless, I like these products 🙂

And I got my mom these two products :

Missha Time Revolution First Treatment EssenceNight Repair New Science Activator Ampoule

The miracle water contains 80% Fermented Yeast Concentrate, effective to repair and enhances skin tone and elasticity, and the ampoule often compared to Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair as the less expensive dupe. Hopefully my mom will be seeing results soon!

Looking forward to try and post about other products in near future 🙂

I’m back! :)

Hello! How have you been? Hope everything is well with you guys. I was gone for past month, it was a crazy hectic month 😓 but now everything has back to normal and I’m glad I can be here again 🙂

I want to share what I went through this past month. It wasn’t something bad, just a lot of new things that needed a lot of adjustment from me. A month ago my classes started and I got a new job, which means double job for me since I already have a job that I’ve been doing for two years. The reason why I looked for a new job was just because I want to try something new and I wanted to challenge myself to a new level. I thought that it’s just going to be a little bit busier than it used to be. But I was wrong. 😱😱😱

It was very overwhelming because I was taking two classes, that requires sewing at home, at the same time. I took so many classes because I want to finish my school as soon as possible, but I didn’t examine my capabilities well. Those two classes themselves take 10 hours per week. While I know a lot of people are capable of doing so, that’s not the case for myself, especially  I have to keep up with the two other classes’ homework and projects AND ALSO had to work for five night shifts that start at 5 pm-ish and one whole day in a week. And I have to be honest, I’m not one of the smartest people on earth (obviously), that I need to learn new stuff and practice several times to fully understand it. 😑 😒

My new job itself took a quite amount of time of my life to learn and also to complete the training. It was tough for myself doing both jobs simultaneously also adjusting in between them. I have less time with my family and to exercise which is quite upsetting for me plus I was so stressed out that I was breaking out so bad 😫 😩 😤

I ended up drop one of my classes and quit the new job because it was too stressful for me. People might not see it on the outside, but on the inside I was literally questioning every single day whether I should stop doing this to myself (lol). I wanted myself to grow, but I might ended up hurting myself instead (okay maybe I exaggerate it a little bit, but it’s true).

It was very unfortunate that I can’t keep everything together, but hey, I tried. And trust me if I could I would, but things happen for reasons and maybe these things happened to teach me another important life lesson .

Moral of the story : know and understand yourself, also, don’t rush things. Remember, good things take time. But of course,

Lovely San Diego ❤️

Guys, let me show you the beauty of San Diego that I experienced through this post. I have never been there and never knew that San Diego has this place called the Seaport Village . How crazy is that?

Super beautiful place, as soon as you park, you will be greeted by lands of cute stores and these :

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

Validated parking is $3 for the first 2 hours, and $2 for every 30 minutes, as for non-validated parking is $8 per hour. You can rent bike and go around this area. I didn’t just because my family preferred to enjoy the surroundings by walking. The view was admirable, the weather was friendly; sunny but not burning, with the fresh breeze swept our skin gently. 🙆

— LOVE ❤️❤️❤️

Look at these windmill.

Mom wouldn’t miss the chance to pose with these colors.

Seriously, this view will make your heart sing  🎶🎶🎶 that may be all I need 🎶🎶🎶

she thought the view was beautiful, but I think she was more beautiful 🐥🐦

Cannot miss this beautiful spot, Pier Cafe . I didn’t eat here and to be very honest I didn’t even know the name of this restaurant ’till they liked and commented on my Instagram picture :p so I can’t tell you guys how the foods are, but if you guys are interested, you guys can check out their lunch and dinner menu.

My outfit :

And this was my brother’s outfit.

Looking good, bruh 😎😎😎😎

And mom found this old church named Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcalá, which was founded in 1769 and is the first mission church in California. They provide tour and map to walk around the church area, was not free, but cheap and they also give discounts for students. I didn’t take a lot of pictures during the tour, just a picture of the actual church :

Super cool, everything looks historical. Crazy how they take care and keep the quality of these stuff.

And of course, a mandatory picture of my self :

Planning to visit? follow the directions here.

Overall, I would rate our day in San Diego 8.5 out 10. #happykid

See you soon, San Diego.
